PHaR has been ticking over nicely during the Spring, despite everything else that's going on, and that's thanks in no small measure to Will's hard work and organisation, and to the commitment of the wider group. If you attended the occasional face-to-face meeting, but haven't dipped into the online meetings, please do: you're still very welcome!

This week Rosa talked us through the phenomenological philosopher Dan Zahavi's entry into the qualitative methods 'phenomenology wars'. The group then discussed his 'Getting it quite wrong' paper (a paper in which the title in no way backfires, definitely not ...). For a more inclusive methodological overview, we also discussed Linda Finlay's 'Exploring lived experience' paper.

In recent weeks, there has also been David Mitchell's paper about the phenomenology of body dysmorphia, and a presentation from Shioma-Lei on her own sterling work around the same topic. The group read Elly Phillips' et al.'s paper on the use of focus groups in IPA research, and also discussed Matthew Ratcliffe's paper on 'sensed presence experiences.' Becky steered the group through a series of reflections on relevant insights from Foucault's work.

I was there at the beginning and end of this span of meetings, and missed a chunk in the middle. Even when I couldn't make it, it was reassuring to know that it would be there once I could. The depth and breadth of things being covered is a delight. As Kissane [more or less] said in this week's meeting: it is good to have a home.
