Meeting June 15th
At PHAR on 15th June, we discussed this paper:
The paper engages really thoughtfully with phenomenological concepts, and uses some innovative methods of data collection to combine images (photographs taken by participants) with verbal content (accounts written by the participants in responses to an interesting prompt to think about the possibilities afforded by different places). We were struck by the way in which isolation (and thus relatedness) emerged so clearly from this focus on health and place. We generated a lot of ideas about what else might be done with the visual material, which was very striking, but somewhat elusive within the authors' analysis.
